Why does Argo exist?
There are some things that are difficult to share. And there are challenges that hard to even start to overcome. Argo exists so that people can express themselves freely and find other people who can help them go where and do what they want to.
Why does Argo ask for location data when I submit a query or create an account?
Proximity is used to enhance the quality and potential of the matches we make through Argo.
What are some ways to stay safe while using Argo?
Journey Safely on Argo
- Never share your personal information with a stranger.
- Don’t feel obligated to talk about anything that makes you uncomfortable or scared.
- If you feel uncomfortable with any person you are chatting with, remember that you can end a chat at any time without justification. Simply click or tap on the Double Axes icon in the top right corner of your chat to terminate the conversation.
- Be friendly. Argo connects you with people who have related or similar interests so start the conversation there!
- If meeting someone in person, keep yourself safe with these helpful tips.
- Try to keep your conversations on Argo chat to maintain a record of your conversations. Argo fully complies with all official criminal investigations.
- Talk about your conversations on Argo with friends and parents, especially if you are underaged.
- If you feel that someone you’ve spoken to through Argo is in violation of our Terms of Service, please let us know through our Help Center.
- Never provide any financial information to strangers you meet on the Internet. Nigerian princes with liquidity problems and the U.S. I.R.S. do not use Argo. ;)
What does it mean to become Heroic on Argo?
To us, Heroic members are literally our heroes. True to heroic form, they provide the financial support Argo needs to grow and improve.
What additional benefits do you plan to have for Heroic members?
Heroic members get a TENFOLD increase to the number of active, unmatched queries they can have a time. We refer to those "Active, Unmatched Queries" as "Wishes." Additionally, Heroic members get a premium version of their user profile that affords them more opportunity to present themselves as they like to potential matches found on Argo. As we build out the functionality on Argo, we intend to add to the benefits we give our Heroes.
Does Argo make money by selling user data?
Your privacy is important to us. We do not sell your user data.
Does Argo make money from advertising?
No, there are no ads on Argo.
Where is Argo based?
We're based on the United States.
Can I trust Argo?
Yes. Ethical use of technology is one of our guiding principles.
Why should I use Argo? Can't I just Google?
You don't have to, but we suspect there are countless great adventures and accomplishments that can finally begin by joining the Argo community. We believe joining forces with like minded people, not websites, is the key ingredient to making things happen.
Why is there a limit to the number of queries I can have?
Argo doesn't limit the total number of queries you can submit, but in order to maintain the quality of queries we hold in Argo, we ask users to prioritize their most important queries. If you need more "Wishes" for your account, we encourage you to consider our Heroic Plan.
How do I terminate chat connections?
There is a "Double Axes" icon on the top right of every chat room made on Argo. Users can click this button at any time to unilaterally terminate the chat.
How do I report someone?
If you feel that someone you’ve spoken to through Argo is in violation of our Terms of Service, please let us know through our Help Center.
